<br />
I have come to the reality that actually sitting down and writing isn't in the cards right now. And I also realized I really love to write. Way too much work, laundry, grocery shopping, house keeping uping, and way tooooo many kiddos. HA!<br />
<br />
I love some Instagram and I think most of the world is coming around to that same conclusion. Just seems to be good clean goodness.<br />
<br />
I had a Sunday "sitdown" post that I wanted to try and put out every Sunday. Maybe when the two year old is older and stops finding markers and coloring the furniture and walls. Maybe then. Because lets face it when he goes to sleep all of the above things take precedent.<br />
<br />
I feel like I am mostly organized. I make a list EVERY SINGLE DAY...down to what clothes to wash. I recently read Capital Gaines and it inspired me. Not so much exactly right now. I do feel like we all have seasons of our lives and my season right now is straight up raising kiddos. Next year the baby heads to 3k and I am sure I will feel a new season coming on having all 4 in school.<br />
<br />
I believe in being efficient. Normally if something isn't going like I know it could or should its time to look at a different way of doing it. 4 kids and 2 dogs and my floors never stayed clean. At all. It was beating me down. I float around like Mary Poppins when the house is clean. Its puts me in a mood that I can't describe. Most may think this is an unrealistic expectation with 4 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 horse in the country. I can't throw in the towel that easily. So we have a roomba that runs every day. Yep. I highly recommend them. We have one of the top models. I have never owned any others so I can't compare cheaper versions to more expensive versions. Lets just say it saves my sanity. Seriously. And I have one of those mop and buckets that you step on the pedal and it spins to ring the mop. We have laminate wood looking floors and I don't care. You can't put a price on a good mopped clean floor. I also just "invested" in a cordless Dyson. Black friday got me. But those three things are my daily meds...I finally feel like I have a handle and it feels good. (Clorax wipes are my best friend and you can thank me for their stock price if its good right now...I have no clue).<br />
<br />
I love home decor. I try to play the hashtag games on insta. My instagram is @diannaglenn.<br />
It was supposed to be markettofarm but I set it up years ago and can't get into it..I've tried every email address and contacted instagram and all they can say is I need whatever email I set it up with. Oh well...<br />

I was lucky enough to get a Nordstrom debit card years ago. A Nordstrom credit card would be NO GOOD in my hands especially during this sale. {I don't think they offer the debit card any longer.}<br />
<br />
If you don't have a card the sale will be open to you next week. However some things will be sold out. They will restock some but not all. <br />
<br />
I love love love this sale and look forward to it every year. Great NEW fall pieces at a discount. <br />
<br />
Here are a few things I got. I will not keep all of them at all. {I do it every year...buy online, try on, and if I don't LOVE, it goes back.}<br />
<br />
Also, if Amazon and Nordstrom could get together and not have Prime Day and Anni Sale within 2 days of each other that would be great. <br />
<br />
Click on the "words" and it will take you directly to the item on the Nordstrom website.<br />
{Side note: pardon my lack of creative link posting...this is not a fashion blog but I feel all moms or others like me could benefit from this sale so I wanted to share.}<br />
<br />
<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/zella-live-in-high-waist-leggings/4696605?origin=category-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=BLACK" target="_blank">Best workout pants EVER!</a> <br />
<img alt="Main Image - Zella Live In High Waist Leggings" height="200" src="http://n.nordstrommedia.com/ImageGallery/store/product/Zoom/17/_13459777.jpg?crop=pad&pad_color=FFF&format=jpeg&w=489&h=750" width="130" /> <br />
I will 1000% for sure keep these. I have two pairs. One that I have worn (worn out) for 3+ years. I bought a bigger size while pregnant with Troy and I still wear them today even though they are way too big. They are that good. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/spanx-faux-leather-leggings/3828364" target="_blank">SPANX® Faux Leather Leggings</a><br />

I will more then likely return these. I bought them because others said this was one of the hottest items on the sale and they would sell out. I am just not sure how many chances I would have to wear them. I'll see what they look like and go from there.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/zella-lexi-high-waist-relaxed-leggings/4524437" target="_blank">Zella Lexi High Waist Relaxed Leggings</a><br />

I hate to even include these because THEY ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT, but just in case there is a restock...if these fit like the Zella black leggings above then I will wear them like once a week. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/halogen-v-back-top-regular-petite/4542682" target="_blank">Halogen V back top</a> <br />

I kept going back to this top. Its just cute. Appropriate for work or anytime I want something besides a tshirt.<br />
<br />

<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
I kept going back to this top as well. Love the color and the style. Cute top for fall on warmer days. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; font-size: 15px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">

<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
I bought this in the color hushed violet. Which I see is already sold out. I am not a huge fan of pockets on my tees but it looks like a good quality tshirt at a fantastic price.</div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/caslon-knit-blazer-regular-petite/4537937" target="_blank">Caslon knit blazer</a></div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">

<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
I purchased this one in the tan-white pattern and its sold out in most sizes. I have a black blazer from Target that I throw on with jeans and a tshirt for work all during the fall/winter. Any color would be a great buy for sure.</div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
No jeans for me although there are some great deals on them. I like Old Navy's Rockstars and I can't cheat on them. Fit and price can't be beat. And dresses...if you have a special event this fall/winter go check out the dresses. Great ones! I am not going anywhere that I know of where I would need a new dress so they were at the bottom of my priorities. You can spend $1000's on this sale if you don't prioritize. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
And shoes. There are some great great buys on shoes...flats, booties, tall boots, even a few sandals. I did not order any shoes because I have the staple ones I like and again it was a priority thing. However, if you have been needing a staple classic riding boot or a bootie this is the place and the time to invest. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
I did get a few more things...pajamas and bandeau bras. Again, I know the above selections add up. Once I get them and try them on I really try to be strict with myself. If I don't absolutely love then it goes back. You know those items you have in your closet that you go to again and again and you feel good wearing them...like that. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
Also, I hope to do a separate post but I did listen to the audio book of Magic of Tidying Up. Although I did not go EXACTLY by the book I really did keep her principles in my head as I have gone through and organized our home from moving in three years ago. I have always preferred more neutral colored clothes...white, beige, black, navy, gray. I thought that was weird so I would buy bright colorful tops, etc and they would hang in my closet. I would always reach for the neutrals. I started following Living With Landyn. She keeps a pretty neutral wardrobe. Between her and the book I did a major closet clean out. I still did not part with some colorful things but I LOVE walking into my closet now. And it keeps me from overbuying. I'd rather spend $20-$30 on a quality great white tshirt that I will wear all the time than have 5 $5 tshirts that take up space and lose shape or don't wash well. Don't get me wrong, I have a few (white, black, navy) tshirts from Target that do all those things...and I love TJMaxx, Marshalls for clothes and Home Goods for home but if I go to those places I say one or two things. That's it. Money is still money and even though it may be a great deal its not free and then I have to store it and go through it later on. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
Lastly, yes I follow mom bloggers, fashion bloggers, home bloggers, etc. A few of the big name fashion bloggers are more my sisters age. And more all the things she is...cute as a button....like 5'10" and 120 pounds. So as I was watching instastories the morning the sale started they were ALL going NUTS over this one sweater...first one blogger and I was like ummm thats not that cute...and then another one posted it and another. (and these girls have like a 100,000 followers...they know their stuff). All the buzz was how this was the most sought after sale item and it would be gone in no time. WHAT? </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
I ALMOST ORDERED IT. Just because "everybody else was doing it". Yes this looks cute on these young cute girls. But I don't know. Its a little too Charlie Brown meets Mr. Rogers right? Maybe I'm wrong but once it was in my cart I was like I can't, I will never wear this, I just can't. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">
And they were right. Its gone. Sold out. In a day. I should have got it for my sister for Christmas...I would have been the coolest older sister ever. Dang it. </div>
<div data-reactid="1647" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;">

<br />
About last night. So today is our 14th wedding anniversary. We couldn't do much today because of Joe's schedule so we kind of celebrated last night. And by kind of I mean kind of. Our lives are crazy and Joe is not a planner so between 4 kids, work, and my take-it-hour-by-hour schedule at 5:30pm I told him we had cans of tuna and boxes of au gratin potatoes that I would fix for supper. I was later then I thought getting home...so I walk in the door at 7:30 thinking we were having sandwiches...my plan B...and Joe had the potatoes in the oven and was crumbling toasted bread for the tuna patties. Awesome! So I jump right in. Well that in itself was fun because he's a smoker and a griller not a kitchen cook. Dinner was delicious and it describes us perfectly. He loaded the dishwasher and washed all the dishes. Its how he says I love you. And I love it. <br />
<br />
So fast forward to 10pm. Yep our kids are having a great summer...even the 2 year old stays up. Whatever. I go lay down in Kate's room (5 yr old) with the 2 yr old. Kate in her bed and me on the floor mattress with the 2 year old. Kate is whining about wanting to lay with me and this and that (more than usual) so I tell her fine go lay with daddy. He's in our king size bed. I am not jealous at all. He's sleeping alone in our king size bed...I am on a bunky mattress on the floor with a still awake 2 year old. Whatever. Anywho. Kate walks into <strike>his</strike> our room. Here is where it gets CraZy. 4 kids. Anything goes. So apparently she leans into his face to tell him to scoot over. And then she barfs. In his face. And then because that's not good enough. She starts walking/running somewhere and continues to throw up on the bedroom floor and the bathroom rug. What the heck. After the dust settled I had a stern convo with her about how you throw up. She's 5. She can do better. I said please just stay on the hard floor away from beds and rugs and puke. Right there. In a pile. We went over this a few more times because the nights still young and I have no idea if it will happen again. Joe and I both jumped into action (I heard commotion and ran into the room) cleaning up all the puke...putting stuff in the washer with so much bleach and ALL THE FUN THINGS married couples do on anniversary eve.<br />
<br />
We always say we should write a book. All. The. Things. Honestly I am so thankful I get to do life and family with Joe. There is just something so magical about raising a family with your husband who is more than your best friend...he's like a mirror image of you. You feel the same things as you go through the same things and no one else quite understands exactly what the both of you are feeling while going through the things.<br />
<br />
Joe was engaged before and I was engaged before. I had a dream. Like I HAD A DREAM. No really it was a turning point for sure. At 21 in college. I dreamed I was getting married, wedding day getting married, walking down the aisle getting married. It was so vivid. In our big catholic church. As I started walking down the long aisle I quickly realized the person I was walking to was not my current significant other. Whoa. So in my dream my head is scrambling trying to figure out who this boy is. Hmmm. He kind of looked like a classmate of mine but it wasn't that person. Very vivid. Very real. As I past the 3rd row from the front there sat my current significant other. What. Most of the dream was me trying to figure out this boy I was walking towards. Woke up the next morning in shock and the biggest gut feeling ever. Broke off the engagement. Just like that. And started hanging out with some hometown friends. <br />
<br />
A few months later I met a guy. Neither of us were crazy about settling down. Over the next year we had more fun than ever. We were dating but we did more hanging out with mutual friends, his brothers, their girlfriends, etc all in our hometown. Everyone started getting engaged and married. I think we went to, or were in, 50 weddings in the course of a year. But nothing for us. We talked marriage but he never pushed go. I got frustrated feeling left out. Finally once I just started being patient he proposed. A year and two weeks later we were married. July 12, 2003. Walking up the aisle. It was my dream and my dream guy. Not joking. He has all the vivid features from my past dream. I can still picture the dream. And its Joe. Crazy! And some divine intervention for sure.<br />
<br />
One of Joe's best friends told me one time that he is the "salt of the earth' kind of guy. (s<span style="background-color: white; color: #6a6a6a; font-family: "roboto" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small; font-weight: bold;">alt of the earth</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #545454; font-family: "roboto" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"> definition, an individual or group considered as representative of the best or noblest elements of society. )</span><br />
Not that I think I married a king or anything but I sure got a good one. He is the guy I hope my daughters marry and the guy that I want my sons to be. <br />
<br />
This would probably embarrass him so I kept it much shorter than the words in my head. We all have good guys. He is def not the only one. I am just happy I get to do this with him.<br />
<br />
I came home this morning from taking the oldest to camp to this. I know it sounds so cliche BUT this is exactly all the things with us. Thoughtfulness goes such a long way. Evidently he went flowering picking this morning. At our home. On our land. You can't buy that.<br />

Here are some pictures of my dress. I LOVED my dress. I cried when I took it off after wearing it maybe 11 hours. I want to wear it again. IS that weird??<br />
These 3 were taken by my FRIEND Jami at the Cathedral in downtown Dallas. <br />
Side note: We were a year shy of the digital age so these are pictures of pictures I snapped in the album with my iPhone.<br />

This was not the original plan. And it was the only thing that didn't go exactly as I had pictured. We were supposed to ride away into the sunset (or 11pm...we were having so much fun and didn't want to leave!!) in a vintage Rolls Royce. But I missed the confirmation voicemail from the car company the day before on my parents home phone so they cancelled our order...ugh. Whatever. <br />
<br />
When. Yes, when we do our anniversary party we will try it again!<br />

Also, I am excited to get started on posting updates of the organizing I have done. {Updates are in here}<br />
<br />
Last year at exactly this same time I said to myself come hell or high water we will get a barn this year.<br />
<br />
Ava's passion is leading us down a path I can honestly say I never would have imagined. Getting this done was no easy task. For one we are busy people. So squeezing in the time was crazy. And then the expense. That was a doozy to get moving. Just when I had given up and thought we would have to wait it all started falling into place. <br />
<br />
Here it is<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HrD4BTTiQQU/WGihGwadzeI/AAAAAAAABMc/cv2Xou2eyWItpUHpIDHs9jkVmaa_keq_gCLcB/s1600/IMG_0571%2B%2528002%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HrD4BTTiQQU/WGihGwadzeI/AAAAAAAABMc/cv2Xou2eyWItpUHpIDHs9jkVmaa_keq_gCLcB/s640/IMG_0571%2B%2528002%2529.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
More of my resolution was to inexpensively close in our garage and knock out a wall in our kitchen and then another in the playroom to open up our garage turn it into a family room. So now the kitchen is open to an area where our farmhouse table sits and once you walk past it you are in the family room and the family room exits to our patio (old driveway). {It is still not finished! And I am not sure when it will be. I know exactly what furniture I want...I will do an inspo board post on that.} <br />
<br />
Also I resolved to get a handle on our "stuff" in the house. What could I really do without? And then ORGANIZE what was left. Adding shelves as tall as the wall helped tremendously in the laundry room, small closet off playroom, and old dining room. I took all the kids books and we went through and kept the most cherished. I took all our board games and cut out the lids and put them in big 2 gallon bags so they would fit behind the doors of the bookshelves. And it just goes on and on. And I am still working on it. <br />
<br />
Resolutions get a bad rap. But I love them. I love goals. I love a fresh start. So I will keep continuing to organize because I have realized that I really do love it. I am somewhat passionate about it and you know what they say about things you are passionate about. <br />
<br />
My 2017 goals or resolutions if you will:<br />
Complete the new family room<br />
Complete the barn--we still need a tack room and then organize all that. Yippee! {Done. Thanks to some great family members}<br />
Take on a healthy lifestyle for our whole family and start working out again. {Ummm...I should be doing that as I type} <br />
Keep up with this blog better (post pictures of all my organizing) {you know its only July...better late then never}<br />
Post more to my instagram ~ markettofarmhouse (that community is amazing. Amazing. so many wonderful women lifting each other up. its my jam.) {Doing that but the follower thing is HARD. People follow you only to market themselves, then unfollow you. Frustrating. I try the hashtag thing but its hard to stay on top of too....plus you have to stage your photos at least a little. Its still a goal and I will keep trying.} <br />

July 12th. Joe and I's 13th wedding anniversary. It was a picture from our wedding day. I had started to type about a dream I had before I met Joe. A dream. Doesn't it all start that way. For me it does. I am a planner and a dreamer.<br />
<br />
When we bought our land and moved we had goals and plans in mind. Dreams. One of those was for Ava to be able to have a horse at her house. Today part of that dream is official. <br />
<br />
The Glenn's are getting a BARN! It was my New Year's resolution! No kidding. <br />
<br />
Remember I said I am a dreamer AND a planner. Once that dream hits my head the wheels start turning and plans start being made. Literally January 2nd I made my file folder and got to work. Researching... asking Ava's horse instructors, paying close attention to barns where she rides, asking neighbors...you name it and I was researching it. And everything I found I would discuss with Joe. From there we had a basic footprint in our heads. Then we had to find contractors and get bids and quotes and everything in between. Except for a few weeks I did something that had to do with the barn. And yes it has taken this long. <br />
<br />
I will post as we go but so far we have cleared out quite a bit of our land for pasture (or paddock). And of course, a spot for the barn. The pad has been set and forms are up. Concrete is next. Hopefully it is poured next week. <br />
<br />
We have ordered the actual metal building. I am excited and nervous because we did go with a color and trim that we have not seen in person or anywhere around here. <br />
<br />
Stay tuned for more posts over the next few weeks!<br />

They were unintentional to some extent. When we realized our oldest was going to be a "horse girl" at around 4 years old we knew our home in the city was not permanent. And we knew our next house would be on land. In January of 2012 when our youngest daughter was a little over 1 JG and I both knew it was time to start making our new dreams a reality. Now that our youngest son is 1 we have set out to put into place our "top 3" goals. <br />
<br />
Finding land, building a house, and adding one more little one has taken 3 years :).<br />
<br />
We are looking at chicken coops. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vlj9uiWwlNM/VtM1W9UpC_I/AAAAAAAABKY/uPkUgDN1ysI/s1600/webRTBY_porch_cropped-600x600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vlj9uiWwlNM/VtM1W9UpC_I/AAAAAAAABKY/uPkUgDN1ysI/s640/webRTBY_porch_cropped-600x600.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C_NrwGEehnE/VtM1X4OgQ9I/AAAAAAAABKc/S8k0CDI2Uqs/s1600/51LAplb9beL__SX425_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="598" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C_NrwGEehnE/VtM1X4OgQ9I/AAAAAAAABKc/S8k0CDI2Uqs/s640/51LAplb9beL__SX425_.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The price ranges have me puzzled. The top is around $1000 depending on options (urbancoopcompany.com) and the bottom is $232 (amazon.com). Hmmmm. Is this really a case of you get what you pay for? We are looking at space for around 6 chickens.<br />
<br />
Chickens are a very hot topic issue. The chicken people seem to love it and the non-chicken people seem to think the chicken people are crazy for doing it. <br />
<br />
So my question is for the chicken people. Tell me you top 3 words of advice in the comments below! We needed to retrieve our game camera card yesterday. So Troy and the girls and I took the tractor to the "back" of our property. I would rather walk but Troy is weighing around 27 pounds these days and it's back breaking to carry him that far.<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oZMeIjSOiVs/Vq0XRJ4iPrI/AAAAAAAABJY/dyqGfTzxGo4/s640/blogger-image-1207482412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oZMeIjSOiVs/Vq0XRJ4iPrI/AAAAAAAABJY/dyqGfTzxGo4/s640/blogger-image-1207482412.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
You see where this is going. After all the heavy rains and our property being in a lower area it is still quite muddy. I knew this and kept to the left in this particular area on the way there. </div>
<div>
On the way back Troy was done with his tractor ride and was a little squirmy. No excuses thought right? I hate and I mean hate being the girl who did this! It's so cliche and I could just hear Joe. It was getting dark so we abandoned the tractor. Joe was actually sympathetic and not angry at all. Instead he gave me a few pointers knowing I would try to get it out today. </div>
<div>
4 wheel drive. Who knew. I just assumed (I know remove the u...blah blah...and the d...blah) that a tractor was auto 4 wheel drive. </div>
<div>
I headed back to the back this morning. Put this sucker in 4 wheel drive and with the help of this board and a little maneuvering (and a little praying) I got it out! Woo hoo!! Our neighbors aren't too close but if they heard excessive cheering this morning it was me. </div>

I kind of feel like I redeemed my card. You know. The "I'll try to do anything a man can do" card. The women in my family are that way. And I love it! (Yes I know I got it stuck to begin with but I was going to give it my all to fix my mess.) </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This post may be a little long winded. I am putting my thoughts out here in black and white. Whew. Christmas. It took my breath away this year. Anyone else? Yes I know, its always December 25th. And I am a planner. I make a list every single day. And each January I note in my November/December calendars what I need to do by when for the next Christmas season. I did not do this last year. My main focus was the birth of our fourth child due 2/8/15. </div>
<br />
We have traditions we do as a family each Christmas season that we have done since our oldest was born. We visit Santa. We go to Hallmark and the kids pick out their annual ornament. We host a cookie baking/decorating session at our house with grandparents, great-grandparents, and cousins. And, Joe and I get a rare day to ourselves of Christmas shopping while grandparents entertain the kids (and by entertain....last year it was Holiday in the Park at Six Flags and this year it was Santa parachuting from the sky in Frisco, TX...complete WIN/WIN for us and our four littles.) Sounds simple. {<em>Side note: The elves parachuting before Santa was a success. Santa not so much. He landed in the parking lot. Upon a trip to the ladies room my mom ran into said Santa in the hallway and because she is one of the friendliest women ever she asked Santa if he was ok and they conversed about what went wrong and the last minute decision he made to land in the parking lot vs the crowd of excited children. Details. Memaw gets the deats.}</em> <br />
<br />
Simple. I just reread the above paragraph. Even though our traditions do involve monetary and material things its clearly not about that. Its the memories. Fast forward to Christmas in 2016. We will absolutely keep the traditions. Also, we will continue to spend Christmas Eve at my grandparents with extended family and cousins at the Flying O' Farm and Christmas Day with more grandparents and somewhere in their we gather with more grandparents and Joe's three brothers and their wives and our nieces and nephews. Its a complete blessing! Grandparents and siblings and in-laws and most importantly cousins...lots of kiddos all relishing in everything Christmas and what Christmas is to a child. Pure Joy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6R36GXH62s4/VogYnzy2efI/AAAAAAAABHc/ou-UHlK_s5k/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6R36GXH62s4/VogYnzy2efI/AAAAAAAABHc/ou-UHlK_s5k/s640/021.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<em>Getting ready to start our 3 days of Christmas. All the kids are looking and kind of smiling. YAY! Two don't have shoes on. yay.</em><br />
<br />
<br />
Christmas 2016 will be slightly different because while making these very important memoires we will keep the monetary part simple. Simple so that we can focus on the memories. <br />
<br />
We can not even walk in the playroom right now because I have not taken the time to go through and reorganize toys for four kids. My dad has a saying of "its out of hand". For us this Christmas was...in more ways than one. Is it because I did not start Christmas shopping in July?...maybe. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C2Mn8KurgOo/VogYH_uFDuI/AAAAAAAABHU/wJBX5hO9YY8/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C2Mn8KurgOo/VogYH_uFDuI/AAAAAAAABHU/wJBX5hO9YY8/s640/004.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<em>Most are new toys, some are old but very much played with, and the other new toys are in bedrooms or other areas of the house. -sigh-</em><br />
<br />
A fresh start. I love a fresh start. There is something therapeutic about taking down all of the Christmas décor. As much as I love it once December 25th passes I am usually ready to put it away and reorganize. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I actually took the time to enjoy New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. New Year's Eve we went to my parents for burgers and fireworks and New Year's Day we cooked at home and Joe's parents came over.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<em>Yum. Joe recently started smoking--food. Ribs, chicken, everything. I even did mac n cheese one time. The best.</em> <br />
<br />
As I was sitting down to start this post I found a draft from July that I had started.<br />
<em>"For the past 3 years we have sold/packed/moved from our home, built a house, and unpacked that house. Its a blur really. And had baby #4. This is the first time/summer/year that I have felt I can be intentional about my goals. I am highly goal oriented and make a list every day. But even a list-a-day does not get things done. You have to be intentional. Most of that is time management. Especially with baby #4 in the house I have learned that I can not realistically get 20 things done in a day. So lately my lists have been short. Simplified if you will. This allows me to stay motivated because each day I feel a small sense of accomplishment."</em><br />
<br />
This still holds true. Cheers to a fresh start and a new year. Keep it simple! <br />

Of course honey bees are not partial to country life but I am starting to think every day out here will be something new. <br />
<br />
We discovered this today in one of our bird houses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-boouAwlFpD4/VYszCKPROtI/AAAAAAAABGU/gVc2pTMk4AY/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-boouAwlFpD4/VYszCKPROtI/AAAAAAAABGU/gVc2pTMk4AY/s640/004.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yRaLs1Tbphs/VYszFIF_HrI/AAAAAAAABGc/nkgUgs9Fbcc/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yRaLs1Tbphs/VYszFIF_HrI/AAAAAAAABGc/nkgUgs9Fbcc/s640/003.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We called a local honey company to see if they could remove them. We found out it would be a week before they could come look. A local pest control company was able to come right away and with his bee suit on and took it out. <br />
<br />
This is what was in there. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JDwXwqs10dQ/VYszxuDQhbI/AAAAAAAABGs/1CGDeYWElUg/s1600/IMG_5130.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JDwXwqs10dQ/VYszxuDQhbI/AAAAAAAABGs/1CGDeYWElUg/s640/IMG_5130.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
Even though it was a minor inconvenience in a very busy week I am happy the kiddos get to see this...and taste honey that is about as local as you can get! We are having a sprinkler system installed today and grass will soon follow We have had more mud then I can handle in a year so we are all very excited about this. The grass now is winter rye which will die soon and what is left is mud. We did have a few areas of bermuda that came up on its own this past spring but would take years to spread. I don't think you appreciate the value of grass until you've done without it...and had kids and a dog.</div>

I have been looking online and in catalogs at window boxes. They ranged from $80-$250 depending on the material, style, and paint. It is cliche but I have a fascination with Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. I saw a similar window box in the WS catalog and Joe said "I can build that". And so he did. He dropped his other 535 projects and built this for me! It was my Mother's Day gift from him and I love it. It is unstained, unpainted cedar and looks perfect with the house. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-byfN5zYX2Gk/U3DbEi3JTWI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/R7Kcuv7Oe18/s1600/IMG_5841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-byfN5zYX2Gk/U3DbEi3JTWI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/R7Kcuv7Oe18/s1600/IMG_5841.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is the William Sonoma one. Hmmm....maybe I need to imprint Farmer G on ours :)<br />
And they must use muscle grow miracle grow!! Or fake plants for the picture.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DI5gZZ592V0/U3DhGsajA_I/AAAAAAAAA4Q/OBYbTAE1H9U/s1600/window+box-ws.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DI5gZZ592V0/U3DhGsajA_I/AAAAAAAAA4Q/OBYbTAE1H9U/s1600/window+box-ws.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I am not a craft person at all. A facebook friend posted that her trick to writing on chalkboards was the chalk paint pen. I love these things...where have I been?? They really do wipe off. So I wrote on each pot. <br />
<br />
I am letting the herbs grow a little before I start using them. They have already taken off. I was a little worried about the sun because they are under a covered porch and just get the morning sun but they are doing really well. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did not have a chance this spring to get our garden started. But after spending more money than I wanted on squash and zucchini we decided to put this up and grow a handful of vegetables this year. We have cucumber, okra, zucchini, and squash. A raccoon/possum was digging around the first week we had it up and killed a green bean plant that Jackson had planted from seed at school. But we have not had a problem the past few weeks. </div>

Joe's barn-shed is on the way. Thank goodness! After all his equipment etc leaves our garage I will finally get to park under cover. Rushing 3 little ones in and out from the rain is doable but I'm a garage parking kind of girl. <br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Joe got to work this February building bird houses and putting up bird feeders. He built 4 and bought 2. We also have about 4 feeders spaced over our 16 acres. They are designed to attract blue birds (not to be confused with blue jays). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After being on the property working most of last year and living here almost 4 months we had never seen a blue bird so our expectations were low. (to qualify for the wildlife ag exemption you just have to provide the habitat even if no creatures are present). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well you know the saying, build it and....</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello momma and daddy blue bird!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The daddy's are the beautifulest blue I have ever seen with bright orange chests. And the mommas are more grey tone with blue tipped feathers and lighter orange bellies. </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p_CAHxE7ZK4/U2pVHokw6BI/AAAAAAAAA1o/xEhiXhb4xws/s1600/IMG_5495.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p_CAHxE7ZK4/U2pVHokw6BI/AAAAAAAAA1o/xEhiXhb4xws/s1600/IMG_5495.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uLMiv1Oq1Y0/U2pZgmfEDTI/AAAAAAAAA10/xP1z_h-_mBk/s1600/IMG_5482.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uLMiv1Oq1Y0/U2pZgmfEDTI/AAAAAAAAA10/xP1z_h-_mBk/s1600/IMG_5482.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div align="left">
At this point we were not sure if they would nest in the houses. Joe was extremely excited! He has become quite knowledgeable in bird world :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Every day Joe would make the rounds checking all the houses and one day he saw this in 2 of them!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-51c8s14t0Vc/U2pjviy5K2I/AAAAAAAAA2c/I-YhgriOsiY/s1600/bluebirds5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-51c8s14t0Vc/U2pjviy5K2I/AAAAAAAAA2c/I-YhgriOsiY/s1600/bluebirds5.jpg" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then a week or so later he saw this!!! You can imagine the excitement around our house at this point. You would have thought we adopted 10 kids :). (2 nests each had 5 eggs)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zUvkYDJa2s/U2pjuCjoi_I/AAAAAAAAA2Y/a077GwSpx3k/s1600/bluebirds3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zUvkYDJa2s/U2pjuCjoi_I/AAAAAAAAA2Y/a077GwSpx3k/s1600/bluebirds3.jpg" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before Joe would open the door of the nest he would approach making a little noise and softly tap on the box. On one of the checks the momma was actually sitting on the eggs and just looked at Joe. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It goes without saying that the kids were super involved also. They did the box checks with Joe and would report back. They also know quite a bit about blue birds themselves. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did have to keep a watch out for the momma and daddy. Blue birds are protected so if we noticed anything out of the normal (like momma and daddy not being around) there was a number to call so that the eggs could be picked up and hatched. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then one day we saw this! Cuddly cute little baby blue birds.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NqxMNJ8FCuE/U2pjoCLtrII/AAAAAAAAA2I/1NrRHLrHaZg/s1600/bluebirds2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NqxMNJ8FCuE/U2pjoCLtrII/AAAAAAAAA2I/1NrRHLrHaZg/s1600/bluebirds2.jpg" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kO6obq_3vj8/U2pjrFIaNjI/AAAAAAAAA2Q/pT-Ud9d4jbk/s1600/bbirds1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kO6obq_3vj8/U2pjrFIaNjI/AAAAAAAAA2Q/pT-Ud9d4jbk/s1600/bbirds1.jpg" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
They have left their nest and wondered out into this big ol world! We are hoping the momma and daddy nest again. If they liked the location they will nest 1 to 2 more times this spring/summer. And what's not to like with this much TLC :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We had a critter eating the bird food.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ftMFNstaZ8E/U2pova2mZUI/AAAAAAAAA2s/GD52RgRStEI/s1600/racoon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ftMFNstaZ8E/U2pova2mZUI/AAAAAAAAA2s/GD52RgRStEI/s1600/racoon.jpg" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
We released him at the front of the property and haven't had a problem since.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And we were approved! All the efforts paid off...it is pretty neat just doing for fun but to save a little money and help populate a species are pretty nice extras!<br />

Doing it is different. But yesterday I watched a video that involved children. My eyes teared up. Kids, my kids, your kids ~ it is heartbreaking what we as parents see in the grocery store aisle and buy. We buy it because its labeled as "natural" or "no sugar added" or "whole grain"...all catch phrases to imply healthy. However if you turn over to the ingredient section you will not be able to pronounce half of it. And in my opinion if I can't pronounce something I better look into eating it.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.takepart.com/video/2014/04/15/fed-up-trailer?cmpid=tp-ptnr-100days">http://www.takepart.com/video/2014/04/15/fed-up-trailer?cmpid=tp-ptnr-100days</a><br />
<br />
I may be fixated, in a cult, or whatever you want to call it. But, one thing is for sure I am going to research and educate myself on something that could affect my children. <br />
<br />
I have no more time or money then the next person. And when it comes to eating I think that's most of our excuses. Organic pasta, organic pasta sauce, organic frozen green beans and corn, and fresh made meatballs cost $15 to feed our family of 5. My husband took leftovers to work today and I will feed the kids with it again tonight. If we would have went to Pizza Hut it would have cost at least $30. Its math.<br />
<br />
I am not perfect and we will probably eat at Pizza Hut in the future. The kids have Book It coupons to redeem. What I am is aware. I am open minded. I am learning. <br />
<br />
Watch the video and start doing your own research.<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t55gZIDuWpM/Uz78PW1SnfI/AAAAAAAAAzc/1VxzlUQgyig/s1600/IMG_5597c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t55gZIDuWpM/Uz78PW1SnfI/AAAAAAAAAzc/1VxzlUQgyig/s1600/IMG_5597c.jpg" height="380" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Don't laugh. Yes I purchased over 40 samples of paint while we were building the house. And yes, this is all for the interior. <br />
<br />
If you have followed along you know that I had a tough time deciding on the white. ~the white that all the doors, trim, and kitchen cabinets would be painted~ It was tough. And you know that I did not like the white I chose at first. I still would label it as off-white not white. However, it is working. As we live in our house it has grown on me and I am now really happy with it.<br />
<br />
Also, if you were to visit (more inside pics coming soon) you would probably be shocked with the color of the walls. They are very light and almost white. The wall colors of each room are anything but colorful. So why would I buy so many samples? Well, because I knew in my head what I wanted it to look like and, as I have learned, I have a hard time pulling the pictures out of my head and into real life. I think some of it has to do with me being so critical and specific. <br />
<br />
Lesson: if you have a Pinterest board or pictures from a magazine just show the painter and let them recommend a few options...few, as in less than 40. <br />
<br />
Note: all were purchased during a SW sale...not at full price...in case that justifies the purchases. And I made new friends over at the local Sherwin Williams store. They know me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am not quite sure where November, December, January, and February went but I know we were busy doing this or that. From a 2nd birthday party to moving to Thanksgiving to decorating for Christmas to Christmas festivities to taking down Christmas to finally unpacking to putting a few things on the walls to raising 3 kids...Oh there those months are. We blinked. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ahhh, but I finally feel like I have been able to breathe...just a tad. We are not finished unpacking. The "craft room" upstairs is still very packed with boxes of decor and picture frames that I have not decided if I will use or not. Also the garage has this or that to go through. But for the most part we've made HUGE progress. The kids rooms are done...even pictures on the wall and closets organized. Joe and I still have projects to do that we just didn't get done while building the house but my vision is a little clearer now. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our shutters should arrive any day. I had to put those off for a few months. I literally could not make one more decision or purchase one more thing. So we ordered them a few weeks ago and I think the front of the house will go up a notch or two once they are installed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We received quite a bit of sleet here in Texas yesterday. No school for the kiddos today and I am working from home. I snapped some pics this morning before the sun got to work melting the layer of ice. </div>

<br />
<br />
Please pardon the cluster of boxes on the back porch. One of the cons of country living...its not as easy to have a garage sale. This is our garage sale pile along with a storage building in town. We should have it gone in March :) I'm recruiting family/friends in town to let me use their driveways.<br />

<br />
We are currently working on the 10 page application form for our wildlife ag exemption. We are mostly concentrating on birds but we will also have a deer feeder in the back. Joe built 4 bird houses himself and he installed a total of 6. We are targeting bluebirds but have not seen any until today. I snapped these pics of our little bluebird. Joe is thrilled. I guess when you work hard on something, no matter what it is, you get a little excited when it works out. <br />

<br />
After we finish the wildlife exemption form and make sure we have our bird houses and feeders going Joe is going to start on his shed/barn. He's building it himself on lumber we had left from the house and pieces we've picked up here or there. Once this is done I think I will finally be able to park my car in our garage! Hopefully while he's working on that I can start on some landscaping. <br />
<br />
Our garden and chicken coop will definitely be waiting until next year. But that's ok. Trust me, we have plenty to do at the moment. I am happy to finally feel like we can breathe and start making our memories in our new place. Oh, and the white dove paint is growing on me. Provides a bit of softness I think the house needed....:) That is all. I have been buying EVERYTHING to finish out the house. And unfortunately no one could do this but me. I mostly knew what I wanted and went on a search to find. From the looks here Home Depot and Lowes topped that list followed closing by Lamps Plus. But also, Amazon and Vintage Tub and Bath were great places to find what I needed (aka wanted). Also, I am a sucker for Pottery Barn. I just like the look. Oh yeah, and I threw in the HEB receipt because its the only place I could find REGULAR CLEAR light bulbs...who would have know! I can not wait to post the finished product. Floors and base boards this week and the painters return next week to paint the base boards and touch everything up. Almost done. <br />

I don't hate it, I just don't like it as much as I had hoped I would. And after my hours and hours of online research and long conversations with my very tasteful friends I am definitely in the minority when it comes to the infamous White Dove. <br />
<br />
I am not sure if you are supposed to capitalize names of paints. But, it is White Dove right?<br />
<br />
Ok, so with that being said I am still hoping the secret to White Dove comes after the floors are laid, electric lighting is in place, counter tops installed, back splash is done etc etc. <br />
<br />
Here is a pic of the kitchen, White Dove and all. Or Off-White Dove.<br />

This post may be a little long winded. For starters I am super excited that we have our "driveway" in. If you call it a driveway. I prefer "our road". It should be OURS as much as it cost. Geez. And not just the rock. Oncor should be able to give out nice Christmas bonuses this year for what we had to pay to run the electricity back to the house.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So the rain that is coming this weekend will not prevent anyone from working on the house. And after it rains I can not wait to wash my car! Of course from here on out I realize I will never have crisp black tires again...unless I don't go home for a few days. To me its like a passage of some sort. We traded cement paved roads for a little dust and rock. We will forever have that gray dust line that coats the edge of your tires. </div>
<br />

<div align="center">
And here we are. All roads lead home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-t9Li3zLsIg4/UkZSeoQmKcI/AAAAAAAAAv0/HbTEpy67yUg/s1600/IMG_4466.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-t9Li3zLsIg4/UkZSeoQmKcI/AAAAAAAAAv0/HbTEpy67yUg/s640/IMG_4466.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love coming to the house and just walking around. I usually (okay always) have a list to go over or someone to meet. But when they leave I take a few minutes to breath it all in. This is it. Our home. Our life. What I wanted. And that's where I get a little confused. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yes, this is exactly what I wanted. (Well mostly...if that dirty little word <em>budget</em> didn't exist I can only imagine the overwhelming decisions). But its good. <em>Budget.</em> I am not trying to have the best of the best. By far we are blessed and have more then we need. But I want limitations. My purpose was never to be glitzy. My purpose was never to be showy. My purpose was to change how we were doing things. And we are so not there yet. Its slow. Its gradual. And I am not patient. But I have a vision. And its no different then any other person's vision. It is not something new and undiscovered. Its taking things back to basics. Putting first things first. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Life is a long and winding road. When you put your faith in front of you and accept all the S curves that come you actually find out they lead to something great. And not only do they lead to something great but the view along the way is peaceful and tranquil. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yesterday my youngest and I walked from the house to the front of the property. She stopped every few feet to pick up a rock or grab some dirt or touch a leaf on a tree. It was one of the most relaxing things I had done in a long time. You could hear a little road noise but other than that, nothing. I took a deep breath, thanked God for making this happen, and watched my almost 2 year old chunk rocks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And that my friends was what this venture was about. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

PAINT. I have been studying it for days now. Can't sleep without dreaming (or nightmaring) about paint. Ridiculous. <br />
<br />
So to keep from sounding to negative I have definitely narrowed down my choices. And I am really excited to have a white kitchen. <br />
<br />
front runner = BM White Dove<br />
close 2nd= BM Simply White<br />
<br />
maybe = SW Divine White<br />
<br />
Oh but I am not done yet. Still have 2 samples waiting for me at SW. The Divine White and a 50/50 mix of BM White Dove and BM Glacier White. <br />
<br />
My kitchen looks like a spotted cow (a white on white spotted cow).<br />
<br />
I have tried SW Snowbound, SW Pure White, SW Westhighland White, BM Cloud White...and a few others that I instantly weeded out and have forgotten their names. <br />
<br />
Whites and I have become pretty close lately. But at the end of the day I have to be sure. This will be kitchen cabinet color as well as all doors and trim through the whole house, stairs, mantel. No stain. I am sure you understand. Its an expensive mistake to mess this up! <br />
<br />
Good news...the downstairs bath, and all kids rooms are chosen. <br />
<br />
This White paint...its an animal. By this time next week it will be all over and I will have to live with my decision. And I am SOOO ready for that.<br />
<br />
Here are some pics of our progress! <br />
The sheet rock has been installed and is tape/bedded/and textured. To keep in line with our budget we went with a very light orange peel. Best choice when you want the untextured look but do not have the budget for the walls to be hand sanded.<br />
